As a nationally ranked runner for six years and now as a doctor, I have developed the belief that clear communication and patient education are paramount to patient service. I am confident that if you understand your injury, you will be better equipped to recover quickly and prevent future recurrences. I want to work with you as your advisor and teammate in an effort to improve the quality of your life and enhance performance in your physical endeavours.
Dr. Carla Cupido graduated with an Honours Kinesiology degree from McMaster University while maintaining national ranking as a track and cross country athlete. The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College graduated Dr. Cupido with Clinic Honours in 2007 and she has since become a Certified Provider of Active Release Technique®, Graston Technique® and Kinesio® Taping; she is also a certified Functional Movement Systems™ specialist. Dr. Cupido’s extensive background in sport has provided her with knowledgeable insight into working with recreational to professional Olympic athletes as well as professional performing artists, including on-set treatments of Hollywood actors for major motion pictures.
Dr. Cupido lectures at various venues including the University of British Columbia. She is a regular contributor to online resources and has been featured in health videos that have been showcased on programs such as Air Canada’s EnRoute, in-flight entertainment system. Dr. Cupido has been interviewed as a health specialist on CTV News and has been published in some of Canada’s leading sport magazines such as Gripped: The Climbing Magazine and Canadian Running.
