People who train in sport frequently (professional, amateur or recreational athletes) experience higher stress loads on their musculoskeletal systems. To prevent and maintain top performance, it is very important for athletes to visit a chiropractor on a regular basis. To me, incorporating chiropractic, Active Release Technique and massage treatments as part of the athlete’s physical development training program and recovery routine is of top priority. This is what helps to prevent injuries and promote efficient recovery. This is necessary to expect top results from athletes. The success of our 2009 racing program could not have been possible without the collaboration with Dr. Carla Cupido. Her extensive knowledge of the human body and her understanding of the athletes’ needs, together with her generous attitude and endless hours of work, gave complete confidence to every rider in their ability to push themselves to their reach maximum potential. I am truly grateful for her sponsorship and unconditional collaboration. In my opinion, anyone who receives her help will experience a true advantage over those who overlooked the need to recover and heal their body. Thanks Carla, without your healing hands it would have been difficult to reach the podium. On a more personal note, I would like to mention that after having spinal surgery, I am successfully training and riding my bike again. After four years of dealing with disc bulges and herniations, I am now pursuing a comeback to amateur racing. Thank you for your dedication and your treatments as well as your knowledge that is necessary to help me maintain my active lifestyle. Andreas Carmona |

Because of the position we need to acquire on the bicycle with our spinal column in constant flexion, we experience pain in the lumbar area as we accommodate to the demands of our vehicle. The movement of the legs for the pedaling action occasionally provokes pain in the lumbar and gluteal area in a similar way. We all suffer frequent pain in the neck area due to the posture with neck extension to hold our vision forward. The consequence usually is the need to find strength to suffer the demands of this sport that are often inhuman. During the initial session with Dr. Carla Cupido, she did a detailed history and examination to determine our conditions. The treatments Dr. Cupido performed were of tremendous help to maintain our health and our ability to train and compete up to our expectations. With her help our recovery was optimal. The techniques were selected carefully and ranged from Active Release Technique to adjustments and Kinesiotaping. She was able address the needs we all had from muscular to joint issues. The program of regular treatments help us achieve the dream we had for a long time and win the races we tried so hard to win before. We are very content with our racing performance during the 2009 season it is undeniable that with your help we were able to recover from the arduous training like never before during our cycling careers. Thanks for your professionalism and all your work. We truly believe the benefits of your chiropractic treatments were a key component to our success.
